It is common to see people who wear some jewellery. Not only women but also men wear them as the decorative items on their body. They will choose silver and occasionally titanium as the material in making rings, bracelets and chains. Among various kinds of jewellery, bracelet becomes the most favorite. It is because of the inscriptions of holy messages from the Quran. Some sects of Islam, such as Shi’a, allow the men to wear bracelet with the carving of the Prophet’s grandson name on them. On the other hand, Sunni Muslims carve the 99 names of Allah on the bracelet.
Western people use ring in their wedding. This is not necessary in Muslim culture. But many modern Muslim choose to give ring to show their love for each other. Again, the rings are not made of gold. Silver is used with diamond encrusted to increase its value. Besides, Muslim men may also choose other precious gemstones like sapphires or emeralds. Since wearing gold jewellery is forbidden for Muslim men, the jewelers are so creative to design jewellery from other materials such as sterling silver cufflinks. They are suitable to be worn with all types of outfits. So, Muslim men who tend to wear western clothes can still wear jewellery to support their performance. With various designs and colors, there will be endless choices to have sophisticated appearance.
